The Cyborg Superman first appeared , as Hank Henshaw , in 1990’sAdventures of Superman # 465 . Henshaw was the victim of radioactivity exposure ; as his organic structure deteriorated he transferred his cognisance into a robot body . His wife run across him in this form and committed self-destruction . This transmit Henshaw over the edge and he went into space ; there he would find Kryptonian genetic material and return to Earth as the Cyborg Superman after the original was apparently killed by Doomsday . The Cyborg Superman would thendestroy Coast Cityand cement his property as one of DC ’s vilest scoundrel . He would revert over the year to menace not only Superman , but the Green Lantern Corps as well . Now the Cyborg Superman devolve in this year’sAction Comics Annual , compose by Phillip Kennedy Johnson , with graphics by Siya Oum and Scott Godlewski , colors by Hi - Fi and letters by Dave Sharpe .

The outcome sees Pyrrho , one of Superman ’s descendants , banish his cousin to the Phantom Zone . They are attack by a horde of monsters , and one of their number , Khan , is almost killed , but is saved by the Cyborg Superman . They recognize him as one of the House of El ’s gravid foes , and after an initial tussle , they agree to puzzle out together to for smash out of the Phantom Zone . The chemical group see a Mother Box and apply it to teleport back to their realism , but not before Cyborg Superman undertake a twofold crown of thorns . Superwoman ( the former Supergirl)also recognizes the Cyborg Superman and attacks , but the other members of the House tell her that he help them . Superwoman gives him a pardon and cautions him not to make her regret it . He then flies off for part unsung .
The Cyborg Superman is one of the Man of Steel ’s most complex foes : a once good human race drive mad through no flaw of his own ; and force to live in a metallic element body . Yet he would go on to slaughter whole cities , and his evilness extended beyond Earth as well . And while he tries to repeat cross the Els , he is also given a shot atredemption by Superwoman . Will the Cyborg Superman make the most of it , and perhaps atone for his sins ? Or will he return to his vicious ways ? If he does , he will bring the full force of the House of El down on himself .
