As Batman reveals that he ’s work on a new Memento case , Red Hood is immediatelystruck by the mention of the ill-famed baddie , clarifying,“THE Memento?"—since the villain was thought to have died years ago . Jason quickly connects the dot that Bruce must have worked the original Memento case in London , mention , “ That ’s funny . Oracle had a theory you were in London for that . Of course , you never told us about it . Except Nightwing , believably . ”It ’s this last comment about his old buddy that brook out , implying something deeper than just Dick Grayson having access to information they did n’t .
By singling Nightwing out as the only one Batman probably confided in about the Memento case , Red Hood is effectively paint a picture that Dick holds a special position with Batman — one that the others , include Jason , do n’t share . Batman ’s decision to reveal details of the causa to Nightwing signals a stratum of trust and intimacy hold for his oldest son , allowing Dick to acknowledge more about Bruce ’s past times than the others , and finally lend him closer to the Dark Knight .
