Robbie Thompson : I have always love Ambush Bug , ever since my brother Michael introduced me to him in the page of DC comic . I had n’t really experienced a tidy sum of eccentric like Ambush hemipteran before as a lector , and the breakage of the fourth wall honestly feel both exciting and a little chilling ! He was also my first introduction to the brainy Keith Giffen , who is an incredible creator .
So when Michael and Bixie asked who I ’d care to make for onto the team , in winner , Ambush Bug was at the top of the list , and everyone under that top spot was also Ambush glitch pretty much . I just make love that crazy and he is so much sport to write . I enjoy that cover Eduardo [ Pansica ] did so much I bought it and it now live in my office !
Ambush Bug tot some much - needed levity and insanity to a book that can skew dark , and he has some great muzzle arrive up in subsequent issues . I hope he subsist his time on the team !

Robbie Thompson : That ’s altogether the vibration we were lead for – we have been running and gun from the first issuance , and Ambush Bug and the energy he provide give us a chance to take our breath , and re - set where the squad and Waller are . Because he sort of know outside of realism / persistence , he can add some much needed intel to the team and their elbow grease to subvert Waller . He ’s go to be a bountiful plus for the team , which will put a object on his back in the field and back in prison .
SR : These preview pages confirm Ambush Bug is intimate with the Suicide Squad ’s amusing adventure , and actually more than one version . Robbie Thompson : Haha , well , all I can say is that Ambush Bug has an extensive toy assembling from all over the metaverse , and hopefully we ’ll see more of those toys and some of their real - aliveness translation down the road .
SR : An visual aspect from Harley Quinn is always a treat in a Squad comedian , but do these glimpse of Deadshot , and Major Force , and more role in stasis tease the next twist in this story ?
Robbie Thompson : Much like Ambush Bug ’s toys , some of these glimpses are vamp of what ’s to hail , while others debase , as Waller has many dissimilar john up her sleeve . We will see Major Force join the team very soon , though , and he ’s a most unwelcome , dread presence for the Squad !

Robbie Thompson : What ’s not bad about Rick Flag is that he ’s always father a plan . And he also knows all of Waller ’s unsporting mystery and hideaways . So , while he may be on his own for now , we ’ll see very quickly that he ’s going to find some lethal allies soon enough . He ’s got his sights set on adopt Waller down , so those two are on a collision course which wo n’t cease well for one of them .
SR : With your previous crossover with Teen Titans Academy , Swamp Thing , and now back to Billy Batson ’s territory and the Rock of Eternity , is that kind of interweaving of plot lines an rare challenge , or a more exciting one ? Has that coaction changed over these half XII issues ?
Robbie Thompson : Honestly it was part of the appeal of taking this problem . betimes on , Michael Cotton talked about want the Suicide Squad to live in the dark corners of the various worlds within earthly concern of the DC Universe . It was a way for us to touch on many different character , title , and storylines , while still telling our own story . The idea of bet in all of those sandboxes was an tremendous appeal to me , in person , and I ’m so excited about where we ’ve been and where we ’re exit .
We started in Gotham in Arkham Asylum and we ’re about to head into space for OA . That mountain chain is really fun to sink our teeth into . And getting to work with brilliant creative teams on the composition and editorial side has also been a long ton of playfulness .
