The action ofThe Flash # 774finds Wally and Irey slowing down for an eve , planning to attend their first don - daughter dance together . unluckily , their design for the evening alteration when they discover most of the public ofCentral Cityhas decrease at peace , thanks to a new Flash villain who dubs himself Dr. Nightmare . Luckily , the gas he use to put the city to catch some Z’s does n’t fully affect speedsters like Wally and Irey . Their connectedness to the Speed Force keeps them alert , but they are stuck moving at normal speed .

of course , as a father , Wally ’s first instinct is to try and keep Irey out of harm ’s style . unluckily , Irey has taken his speech on how to be a hero to heart and repeats his words back to him , pronounce that he has repeatedly told her there is more to being a hero than having powers , and that he wanted to learn her that lesson . ineffective to argue with himself , Wally takes Irey with him into the fight .
There is some deep irony in watch Wally West , who aim into the hero business at a unseasoned years asthe first Kid Flash , being squeeze to corral a daughter who is as stubborn and raring as he was . gratefully , Irey also proves to be as impudent as her honest-to-goodness man , quickly figuring out the generator of Dr. Nightmare ’s power to make nightmares come to life is the helmet he put on other people . She also comes up with a bold design to turn the tables on Dr. Nightmare by stealing the helmet and using it to bring her own heroic dreams to life , despite her papa ’s worries that using the helmet might be too dangerous .
In the end , Dr. Nightmare is vote down , and Wally and Irey lastly get to trip the light fantastic together in Paris , with their powers mend . The learning experience proves that Irey is an minded educatee quick for the responsibilities of being a superhero and thatWally West is quite the teacher , even when he does n’t mean to be . ( In one cute moment , when Wally asks Irey how she got to be so brave , and she reply " From ascertain you . " ) However , while he may be a slap-up wise man , the Flashis equally inept when it come to fulfilling his province as a Father of the Church and keep his girl out of danger - finally , Wally West will always struggle to keep his crime syndicate safe , since he spends every day teach them the merits of running towards danger to help others .
