But to find Prometheus , the heroes cross more than a few lines by torment their enemies against Green Arrow ’s wish . They return to the real Justice League onboard their planet base before Freddy Freeman reveals himself as Prometheus and deplume the Justice League apart . Prometheus reveals that infiltrate the satellite has been his plan all along and spark devices that start demolish the heroes ' metropolis . Green Arrow ’s Star City is attain the difficult , and Lian Harper even dies in the calamity . back into a nook , the League releases Prometheus in exchange for the codes to disarm his technology . This plot line was a dark turn for DC ’s greatest heroes , with Green Lantern and Green Arrow ’s actions not have the outcome they ’d desire for . If they ’d been pool their resources with the rest of the Justice League , they may have been capable to predict and even frustrate Prometheus ’ attack before it materialise . Instead , the master criminal managed to tear them apart , along with multiple major city and G of animation , before they were actually able to stop him .
This set them in a very similar gravy boat to Marvel ’s Wolverine and his covert X - Force squad . Both teams were formed with the design of strike out against threats before they had the luck to do any damage , and both radical only ended up causing more pain in the neck and woe in the cognitive operation . Although Hal ’s ownversion of the Justice Leaguewasn’t really sanction murder , they still crossed a line by torturing villains , and Green Arrow end up taking the life of Prometheus anyway .
None of that could be considered traditional superhero conduct . And even thoughGreen Lanternand Green Arrow’sCry for Justiceteam was a short - know group , it was still an incompetent calamity . Their quest for proactive Justice Department adventure a round into DC ’s very ownX - Force , and for a team that called theJustice League , that ’s not full ship’s company to keep .
