Now You See Me 2reviews were more electronegative than the ones for the first film , but the pic was still a box seat office success . Even though the sequel may not have been as surprising or as charming as the first instalment , the casting continued to be one of its greatest strengths . Caplan ’s Lula had big shoes to fill come into the story , but she proved to be a worthynew appendage of the Four Horsemenand , in fact , a highlight of the motion-picture show as a whole , meaningit would be great to see the character back in the next movie .
Now You See Mehas a 51 % score onRotten Tomatoes , whileNow You See Me 2has only a 34 % .
Bringing Lula back as an antagonist would be a fun newfangled furrow in the franchise , and it could be played as a mirror reverse of the twist fromend ofNow You See Meinvolving Mark Ruffalo ’s Dylan Rhodes . But , doing this would also rob the movie of what made her theatrical role so entertaining in the sequel . It remains to be seen whether Lula will actually show up inNow You See Me 3 , but it certainly seems like audiences will indeed have to go see for themselves .
