The two heroes have been butting heads from the beginning of the series , but their conflict at long last comes to a mind in this issue , with Superboy struggle most of his squad members and actually managing to defeat them .

This leads to him teaming up with Blackfire and her US Army of Tamaranians asthe nefarious Black Zero . As Black Zero , he manages to shoot down every member of the Titans except for Starfire , who grapple to get away his bill . When Raven call for him why he has turned against the squad , he cites all the preceding instances in which he was pluck on or discounted by his mate .
No matter how psychotherapeutic Superboy ’s victory over the other Titans may be , it does n’t exchange the fact that he is now push them as part of an alien invasion . It remains to be seen whether Conner will eventually decide to help his former teammates or whether he will embrace his identity as Black Zero and persist in to side with the Tamaranians .
