Why Astor Could Be The Mummy In BotW 2
When we were first inclose to the mummy in the originalBreath of the Wild 2trailer , we see that it has long hair of a faded red people of color , greyish skin , Gerudo - styled jewellery , and is draped in a tattered gown . In the same trailer , we also see a cave house painting of a red - hairy Ganondorf cod a sawhorse in battle armor while maintain a trident . Details such as these have previously point to this corpse being familiarLegend of Zeldavillain Ganondorf , the red - headed and green - skinned Gerudo .
However , with the additional brief glimpse we are given of this mummy in the recentBotW2trailer , it ’s possible that this may not be Ganondorf at all , and is instead the magician Astor . While Astor in his original human form does assume a like glowing headband , his overall torso shape and spirit do n’t completely align with the coming into court of the mummy . Astor has pale blanched tegument and a smaller , thin frame compare to the darker peel and bulky body of the possessed corpse .
However , at the ending ofAge of Calamity , Astor was devoured by Harbinger Ganon who then transforms into Calamity Ganon . This rendering of Calamity Ganon is a large humanoid with ruby-red spiky hair , Gerudo - styled jewellery , pointed dentition , and most notably the same hollowed glowing eyes view in the mummy inBotW 2’s2021 teaser . Of the theories that have been bandy about thus far , it ’s perhaps most likely thatAge of Calamity’sversion of Calamity Ganon , made up of Astor and Harbinger Ganon , is the personal identity of the reanimated corpse - not simply Ganon alone or Astor ’s exclusive human word form .
Due to the issue of clip travel and the multiple timeline premise inAge of Calamity , it ’s potential that when Terrako detonate itself to defeat Calamity Ganon , this version of Ganon was sealed , but not destroyed , sent into a different timeline . A disconnected timeline seems to be confirmed byAge of Calamity’sending , though exactly what that could signify forBreath of the Wild 2is still unsettled . While we do n’t get laid the identity element of the glowing manus keeping the mummy mesh in place , perhaps this mummified figure is the shriveled , aged remains ofCalamity Ganon , a powerful mix of Harbinger Ganonand Astor .
